Kathy is a client-focused registered patent attorney with diverse legal experience.  She has concentrated on domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution in the areas of computer hardware and software, medical devices, business methods, mechanical and electromechanical devices, and consumer products.  Kathy also has extensive experience with all aspects of trademark law including searches, acquisition, opposition proceedings and consent agreements, as well as copyright registration and infringement analysis.  In addition to her transactional work, Kathy has also participated in patent, trademark and trade secret litigation including pre-filing due diligence, claim construction analysis and Markman briefing, discovery requests and responses, and expert witness preparation.  

Prior to becoming an attorney, Kathy was a results oriented engineering manager in both established companies and in nascent start-ups.  She understands the importance of protecting and commercializing intellectual property while simultaneously addressing cost and schedule requirements.
